Moments from My Friend's Engagement !

Greetings everyone !

I’m very excited to share one of the most awaited experiences of my life — the first engagement I ever attended from my friend circle ✨ Interestingly, the engagement was planned right after one of our postponed exams The engagement took place in my friend’s village, which is a bit far from my hometown. Two of my friends had already accompanied her when she left for the village, while two others stayed at my home a day before we left. With those two friends, I spent a lovely day exploring the local market. We shopped for a “शेला” for our bride friend , a small gesture filled with love 💕. We also visited the colony temple and a nearby parlour for grooming. It was simple, yet full of fun and laughter.
The next day, my parents dropped us at my friend’s village. During the journey, we enjoyed good songs 🎶 and stopped to relish the famous “कांदा भाजी + कुंदा” at करंजी घाट must-have! We also visited Grishneshwar Temple and Mohata Devi Temple . Having my parents and friends together felt like a beautiful road trip experience. When we reached my friend’s village, we were welcomed by an old-style home surrounded by nature. Cows and calves stood near the doorstep, and a pet dog welcomed us warmly. The family members showered us with love, even though we had just met them. The warmth felt real and genuine 🤍. Within an hour, we felt like part of their family. We had fun decorating gifts for the groom’s side and later drew mehendi on each other’s hands — a moment full of laughter and bonding. There was also a funny moment where we tried to make sure the makeup artist behaved well the next day 😄. The food prepared by her mother and aunt was absolutely delicious — cooked with love .
Later, we had a dry rehearsal for the bride’s entry on a stage built beautifully in their farm 🌿. All her siblings and we friends were involved, making it even more special. The evening ended with a desi bonfire , lots of conversations, and shared laughter. We all slept in the same room, and amidst all the fun, we didn’t even realize when sleep took over. The next day was finally the engagement day — a truly happy one 💍✨.
We woke up early, freshened up, had breakfast, and I felt how peaceful it is to be so close to nature. After breakfast, we visited their farm, where we picked fresh fruits from the trees — such a refreshing experience. We then got ready and helped our bride friend prepare for her big moment. After the rituals, we assisted her again while she changed into her new outfit. During this time, I made a new little friend , the bride’s cousin sister, who is currently in 10th grade. Every family member made me feel like I belonged there. Finally, we witnessed our friend’s engagement ceremony 💍, congratulated the couple with full hearts, enjoyed the food, and then began our return journey. It truly was a lovely, heartfelt experience , one that will stay with me forever 🤍.

Lessons I learnt in this ceremony

1.Learning to adapt to situations wherever you go is a true life skill.
2.Our parents give us the best life possible through silent sacrifices.
3.Money can be earned, but genuine love and emotional warmth must be earned.
