A Day with History !

Greetings everyone!

Here I am again, excited to share a new and thrilling experience — one we had been eagerly waiting for ✨

Currently, we are in the middle of our exams, but one of my papers got postponed, leaving us with a long gap between two exams. It’s quite obvious that during exams, there are days when you just don’t feel like studying. The same happened with me. Despite having enough holidays for preparation, I chose to plan a day out with my hostel friends.

This time, we decided to visit a fort that holds immense historical significance. A single line can make you remember it — “गड आला पण सिंह गेला”
Yes, you guessed it right —  सिंहगड किल्ला 🏰

Our day started with a light breakfast 🍽️. We took a city bus and reached the fort around 9 a.m. After enquiring about the safest trekking routes, buying some toffees, and mentally preparing ourselves, we began our trek 🚶‍♀️.

It truly was a place where Wi-Fi was weak but vibes were strong 📵✨. The morning was soft, with gentle rays of sunlight providing warmth in the cold atmosphere 🌤️. The trek was adventurous — at times we climbed steep slopes, and at other times we walked on step-like paths. Gradually, our energy drained, so we took a halt for lemon water to boost ourselves 🍋 and then continued energetically.

Along the way, I collected some flowers and leaves 🌼🍃, just to preserve the memory of this day. While clicking photos during the trek, we met two retired army officers. We had a brief but meaningful conversation with them. Their fitness even in their 50s left me amazed and inspired 💪🇮🇳. Though the interaction was short, it gave strong, positive, and disciplined vibes.

Reaching the top of the fort filled us with excitement 😄. We explored higher points, clicked good pictures 📸, and some of my friends shopped for goggles and snacks. Meanwhile, I was eagerly waiting for lunch 😋.

Switching to Marathi here, because expressing this part in Marathi feels stronger — Marathi is an emotion ❤️

The most awaited moment was having मटका दही, something I would honestly live for 🤍. Every foodie can relate to this. As true Maharashtrian starters, we enjoyed कांदा भजी, followed by an authentic Maharashtrian thali — पिठलं-भाकरी, वांग्याचं भरीत, मटका दही, मटकी उसळ, मिरचीचा ठेचा, पापड, भाकरी, and वरण-भात 🍛.
A cute moment during lunch was a puppy’s little interference 🐶, which made everyone smile.

After lunch, we explored more parts of the fort. We visited:

  • तानाजी मालुसरे स्मारक 🗿

  • राजाराम महाराज समाधी 🕊️

  • तानाजी कडा ⛰️

  • घोडे व हत्तींचे तबेले 🐎

These moments made me feel deeply proud of the historical monuments that still exist 🇮🇳. Informative boards placed around helped us understand the significance of each spot.

While exploring तानाजी कडा, we found a quiet place with no one around. We stopped there, sat peacefully, and sang some of our favourite songs 🎶. It was something no café or restaurant could ever give us — pure peace 🤍.

Later, we decided to descend using local cabs available near the parking area. Unfortunately, this part of the journey was uncomfortable 😕. With no other transport options available, we somehow managed. Eventually, we took a direct cab back to the hostel and relaxed during the ride 🚕.

By the time we returned, we were completely exhausted 😴. We took a bath, slept for a while, had dinner, took tablets for body pain, and finally slept peacefully.

Definitely, it was a memorable trip filled with experiences and lessons

Things I Learned from This Day 🌱

  1. When planning a day out, considering all aspects of the trip is necessary.

  2. Being able to adjust according to situations is an important life skill.

  3. Understanding the seriousness of situations and behaving accordingly reflects true maturity.

  4. Fitness is extremely important 💪

  5. Standing up for yourself is self-help, not ego ✨
